A HOME IN THE CITY: RESIDENTIAL AMBIENCE MEETS METROPOLITAN CHIC WITH DEBUT OF KOR HOTEL GROUP'S CHAMBERLAIN IN WEST HOLLYWOOD

-- Kor Hotel Group Extends Its Signature Style to West Hollywood with Newest Boutique Hotel --

May 12, 2005 (Los Angeles, CA) - Kor Hotel Group, the Los Angeles-based luxury boutique hotel operator, has announced the opening of Chamberlain in West Hollywood, the most recent addition to its design-savvy collection of metropolitan boutique hotels. Launched on May 9, 2005, the four-story, 112-room hotel provides comprehensive amenities, including exquisitely furnished suite-style accommodations ideal for longer-term stays, tasteful event space, a roof-top pool and a New American bistro and lounge. As Kor Hotel Group's newest project, Chamberlain embodies the distinctive style and service standards that have established Kor's leadership in the burgeoning boutique hotel industry. Sister properties owned by Kor include Avalon, Maison 140, Viceroy Palm Springs and the group's flagship hotel, Viceroy Santa Monica. Special opening rates at Chamberlain will start from $159 nightly, effective through May 31, 2005 (some blackout dates apply).

In Town, In Residence, In Style

Chamberlain is a chic metropolitan hotel infused with the personalized touches and familiar ambience of a residential pied-a-terre. Kor's subtle and attentive eye to the details that distinguish true quality, such as optimum location, innovative design and discreetly attentive service, advances Chamberlain into a realm of tasteful style and easy elegance usually associated with meticulously-crafted private homes.

Interior designer David McCauley, a protégé of designer Kelly Wearstler of kwid, the creative eye behind the signature style of Viceroy Santa Monica and Chamberlain's other sister boutique properties, has crafted the interiors as an eclectic mélange of exquisite, singular artifacts drawn from a multitude of eras and genres. Grounded in English Modern and neo-classical aesthetics, the décor is given an injection of travel-savvy sophistication. Chamberlain's striking street-level lobby is tiled in a herringbone pattern of tropical jade and patina green, honed to a dusky-matte finish. A tufted, tuxedo sofa and neo-classical chairs frame the space, while a bronze, drum-shaped coffee table of 300 pounds interrupts any hint of a safe, staid aesthetic. A partitioning screen of pillars and in-set mirrors evokes a modern-Moorish feel and is accentuated by an adjacent wall mirror that refracts its patterned light into kaleidoscopic flecks. The lobby's over-sized reception desk is reminiscent of an antique, Asian steamer trunk.

Located in city-centric West Hollywood, the region's business, style and entertainment nexus, Chamberlain is ideally nestled on a tree-lined, residential side street that underscores its soothing, domestic ethos. Yet the heart of Los Angeles' urban verve lies conveniently close at hand: An easy two-block walk brings guests to both the world-famous Sunset Strip and Santa Monica Boulevard, where iconic nightclubs, acclaimed restaurants and posh shops are rife for leisurely perusal. Universal Studios Hollywood, Santa Monica Beach, and the J. Paul Getty Museum are short drives away, while Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is a mere 12 miles and Burbank Airport (BUR) just 10 miles.

Home Suite Home

Chamberlain's 112 rooms and suites are tailored to suit the refined tastes of the most discerning business or leisure traveler, while fully outfitted with modern conveniences to meet the high-paced needs of any cosmopolite. Soothing tones of dusky grey and ivory, aligned with subtle blues and greens, create a calming haven. The gentle rustling of trees poses the only interruption to pin-drop quiet.

Intimate residential touches abound for a home-away-from-home atmosphere. Customized, white faux-leather headboards and Mascioni 250-count sheets, down comforters and pillows shroud the king-size mattress, making an indulgent day lolling in bed difficult to resist. Carrera marble bathroom floors, plush Italian bathrobes, and Thyme hair- and body-care products invite a luxurious pampering break.

Each room is appointed with a gas-log fireplace, private balcony, sueded-fabric sofas and velvety chairs. Lush strié-patterned carpets in hushed blues and greens flow across the floors, while tastefully selected 18-century architectural lithographs grace the walls. A user-friendly entertainment center features a 20"-27" LCD flat-panel TV, CD-DVD and VCR player with a selection of DVDs and on-command movie system. An in-room refrigerator and room service are always close at hand.

For those traveling on business, rooms are equipped with a spacious work station featuring high-speed Internet access, a two-line speaker phone with private voicemail and a laptop-accommodating in-room safe. An over-sized wooden desk in sensual driftwood tones is paired with regal ostrich-print leather chairs to affect the feel of a residential private study.

Studio and Grand Rooms range from 350 to 550 square feet and are designed in an open floor plan demarcated by a separate, step-up sleeping area. One-Bedroom Suites are 650 square feet, replete with separate bedrooms and expansive living areas with queen-size convertible sofa beds. Select One-Bedroom Suites additionally feature a dining nook and kitchenette equipped with a microwave oven, wet-bar area, dishware, glassware, cookware, coffee maker and flatware.

Chamberlain's dedicated concierge service, room service, dry cleaning and laundry services are available to all guests, as is valet parking in the hotel's underground, secured parking structure. The rooftop deck entices guests to recline by the heated swimming pool or in a cabana lounge and meditate on the hotel's stunning, 360-degree views of L.A.'s twinkling cityscape. A 500-square-foot fitness facility with top-of-the-line cardiovascular equipment and free weights operates from 6:30 am to 11:00 pm daily.

Superior Taste in Cuisine and Design

Tucked off the lobby, Chamberlain's in-house, modern American bistro and lounge conjure the ambience of a favorite neighborhood rendezvous. The ingredient-driven menu combines the best of modern American and California cuisines to deliver fresh seasonal twists on traditional bistro fare with hearty meals and inventive cocktails. A companion bar menu of smaller plates and canapés presents an ideal, lighter-fare alternative that partners well with the clever martini selection and extensive list of wines, all available by the glass.

The distinctive dining room is bathed in watery blues and teals and looks out through a 20-foot wall of floor-to-ceiling windows onto a lush garden patio of tropical palms and native foliage. An exotic lattice-pattern of turquoise and green tile lines the floor, highlighting the turquoise strié wallpaper, while dramatic lantern-shaped pendant lights illume above. This intimate restaurant seats 30, at both free-standing tables and banquets; the garden patio seats an additional 24. Chamberlain's bistro and lounge is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.

Intimate Meetings, Stylish Events

With a seating capacity of up to 25 participants (496 square feet), Chamberlain's state-of-the-art meeting room is ideal for small gatherings, intimate business meetings, sales presentations or unique events. On the rooftop pool patio, the spectacular views of Los Angeles and Hollywood provide an ideal setting for intimate receptions and celebrations.

Wireless Internet access is readily available in meeting and public areas, and the hotel's Business Center offers a complete range of services. Chamberlain's convenient location near Hollywood's entertainment industry, business centers and attractions, as well as LAX and Burbank Airports, provide extra incentive.
