Kor Hotel Group will dedicate its third-annual "Think Pink" campaign, in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to local community partner, the Downtown Women's Center (DWC) in Los Angeles.
Throughout October, participating Kor properties will offer guests a "Think Pink" rate, 10% of which will be donated to the Downtown Women's Center for the purposes of building and staffing Skid Row's first full-service medical and mental health clinic for women.
Kor's relocation to Los Angeles' Downtown in early 2008 initiated the relationship with DWC.
Kor supports clothing drives, has provided cash donations and leads quarterly lunch services, a special meal program that involves the generosity of hotel chefs and hotel group colleagues.
Think Pink, with the support of its guests, will allow Kor to make a greater impact by providing DWC funds crucial to the opening of their new facility, further expanding breast cancer detection and prevention services for hundreds of needy women.
A widely respected presence in downtown Los Angeles, DWC was opened in 1978 as the first local facility exclusively for homeless women.
Over the years it has provided outreach and treatment for breast cancer patients and those at risk via visiting mobile clinics.
In early 2010, DWC will establish Skid Row's first permanent full-service medical and mental health clinic for women and will offer regular breast cancer screenings to those lacking health insurance.
"Think Pink Rates": contribute to the cause
"Think Pink" room rates are equivalent to the hotels' prevailing retail rates and are available for stays in October.
Properties donating 10% of these proceeds to the Downtown Women's Center include Avalon Beverly Hills, Maison 140 Beverly Hills, Chamberlain West Hollywood, The Tides South Beach, The Tides Riviera Maya, The Tides Zihuatanejo, Viceroy Santa Monica and Viceroy Palm Springs.
About Downtown Women's Center (DWC)

Its mission is to provide permanent supportive housing and a safe and healthy community fostering dignity, respect, and personal stability,
